The More Midwives Campaign

As many of us know, midwives work tirelessly around the world in many capacities to care for women and bring children into the world safely. Not only does midwifery care lower the risks for pre-term birth and low birth weight, they care for women with kindness and compassion. This women-focused care is undoubtedly necessary in every country.
Recently, England has experienced a baby boom! Currently, the NHS does not have enough midwives to keep up with the increasing number of births and complexity of the needs of the women. This has the potential to decrease access to care for women and cause the currently working midwives to be overstretched.
At My Friend the Midwife, while we strive to support and empower women with knowledge, we also aim to support the midwives who care for them every day. The Royal College of Midwives need your help to achieve their goal to add 5,000 more midwives to their work force. They need 100,000 signatures by August 22 to generate the parliamentary debate. Please do your part, as a provider or as a woman to help our friends across the pond!
